If there's anything my son loves, it's a strawberry pastry. Any strawberry pastry will do, but recently, I found one at ALDI that's become a family favorite.

I spied Specially Selected Strawberry Rhubarb Blossoms in the "here today, gone tomorrow" freezer at my local ALDI, and had to grab a package. For only $3.29, you get two "blossoms" or pastries; each pastry weighs a little more than a quarter pound.

What's So Great About ALDI Specially Selected Strawberry Rhubarb Blossoms

I warm up the blossoms in my air fryer whenever there's an oven option, but you can also microwave them or toast them in the oven. The blossoms come out perfectly golden, with flecks of sugar on the outside, and on the inside, they're chock-full of strawberry-rhubarb preserves.

They are buttery, chewy, and oh-so fruity. When I took them out of the oven, the sweet berry smell reached my nose before I could even take a bite. My son, who would eat strawberry-anything every day of the year, just about swooned when he took his first bite. They are just so, so stinking good. The tartness of the rhubarb enhances the delicate strawberry flavor, and the pastry base is perfect for setting off both fruit flavors.

These desserts are perfect if you're having guests over, and if you want to make them cry with delight, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a touch of whipped cream. That takes the "oooh" factor up a couple of notches.

My son finished the first package in one sitting, so I had to return to ALDI to get a few more. They are absolutely perfect for dessert, but they would add elegance to a brunch or breakfast.

My son says they are perfect for a weekday breakfast, and I agree, plus they pair beautifully with coffee. However, my son also thinks they're an excellent after-school snack.

These blossoms have quickly become a family favorite, so I've stocked up. They're so good; I hope they become a regular ALDI dessert.
