Aldi's Breakfast Best’s Heat-N-Serve Original Fully Cooked Sausage Links.

Price: $1.65 for a package of 10 links
Why I Love It: These breakfast sausage links are savory and meaty plus they're already pre-cooked and browned. I microwave them for last-minute breakfast item or use them to bulk up breakfast casseroles, omelets, and more.

I often go to bed on weeknights with the best of intentions, planning to make breakfast from scratch the next morning for my family. Then I oversleep or my son has a last-minute paper due that he wants me to take a look at, and all of my good intentions go by the wayside.

That’s where stocking a few well-chosen Aldi frozen products becomes helpful. My latest find that saves busy mornings is Aldi's Breakfast Best’s Heat-N-Serve Original Fully Cooked Sausage Links.

Why I Love These Heat-N-Serve Sausage Links

First off, the package of 10 links costs just $1.65 (and a few weeks ago, it was on sale for $1.39!). I don’t know that there’s a single sausage product sold anywhere that costs only a dollar and a half—it is by far the best deal I’ve found.

Just as important as a good deal, the sausages are also delicious. Though they’re not quite as good as the fresh bulk breakfast sausage, they’re pretty darn good to be so incredibly convenient. They’re savory and meaty, and the sausages are already pre-cooked and browned which means that they’re so, so easy to prepare.

With 10 links in a 6.4-ounce package, there are three and a half “servings.” I put servings in quotations because I have a teenage boy who eats more than my husband and me combined. My son ate an entire package of these just this morning. He chased them down with two protein waffles and juice, and he could have eaten a second package without thinking. “They’re good,” he says, which I take as a ringing endorsement from a teenager.

How To Use Breakfast Best’s Heat-N-Serve Original Fully Cooked Sausage Links

To prepare, just toss a few links into a microwave-proof dish and microwave on high for one to two minutes. The directions recommend stirring the links around halfway through the heating, but I never do that and I never have a problem.

While I mainly serve these sausages as a last-minute breakfast item, I think they could also be added to breakfast casseroles or quiches, wrapped with pancakes to serve as pigs in a blanket, and even sliced and added to omelets, breakfast burritos, or even tossed onto a pizza.

Mostly, though, they’re perfect for breakfasts on the run. I try to keep two or three packages in my freezer—they’re a lifesaver.
