Costco is known for its bulk nonperishable items, freezer finds, and of course, a drool-worthy selection of ready-to-eat food. The prepared food earns raves because it's made fresh and reasonably priced, and it's easy to stretch one item into dinner for the whole family.
While we normally recommend Costco's prepared food, this week, there's one prepackaged item you’ll want to dispose of stat.
On September 20, Costco recalled 3,314 pounds of Kirkland Signature Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke after its supplier notified the warehouse that green onions used in the poke tested positive for listeria.
Listeria can cause severe or even fatal illness in young children, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems. Most people with listeria poisoning will experience symptoms like fever, headache, nausea, and diarrhea. However, it can lead to more serious consequences for those who are pregnant, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
